Keeping in line with new technologies, Aurora Dental Group is making some changes to provide a healthier atmosphere. To keep our patients informed, we are sharing our new technology and practice changes with you.
Vanguard Gold Mobile-Extraoral Dental Suction
One of the hazards of the dental field is being exposed to aerosols. Aerosols are the droplets that exit the mouth during a dental procedure. The Vanguard Gold Mobile is an extraoral (situated outside the mouth) suction unit that eliminates aerosols in the air during dental procedures.
To efficiently use the unit, it is placed next to the procedure chair with the flexible tubing in an optimal position. The features of this unit include advanced HEPA filtration. Other features that make the Vanguard Gold Mobile great for dental offices are:
- High-suction turbine motor
- Three-speed adjustable suction power
- Easy maintenance
- Low repair rates or the need for tech support
- External odor filtration option
- Removeable parts for easy disinfection
- Rolling cart on four-wheels
Medify Air
Based on the EPA, the air inside can be two to five times worse than outdoor air. The Medify Air unit helps remove contaminants from indoor air and make it clean and fresh. An H13 HEPA filter helps eliminate 99.97% of particles found in the indoor air.
By bringing in the Medify Air for each patient room, we can cycle the air and filter it four times every hour. This means that anytime you are in the office at Aurora Dental Group, you are breathing the cleanest air possible.
How Aurora Dental Group is Protecting Patients and Staff
As a part of the effort to stop the Coronavirus transmission, our office is implementing a new screening procedure. Upon entry into the office, you will be greeted by a member of the staff who will ask you questions about your threat of exposure to the Coronavirus. Next, a temperature check will be conducted. We cannot allow anyone to stay in the office who has a temperature of 100.4°F or above. If you cannot be seen due to a temperature, we will call you to reschedule your visit.
Staff members are required to wear personal protective equipment. After every patient, our staff will be required to change the personal protective equipment to ensure that transmission is minimized. The protection we will be providing our staff will consist of masks, gloves, gowns, and face shields.
Increased cleaning measures will be implemented. All hard surfaces will be disinfected regularly. Hand sanitizing stations will be set up to help provide patients and staff with easier access to hand hygiene practices.
Social Distancing Practices
As requested by the CDC, social distancing practices will be implemented at Aurora Dental Group. We will require that patients in the waiting room are at least six feet apart and refrain from touching each other. Our staff will follow the same procedures unless performing a procedure or examination.
Aurora Dental Group’s Promise
Our office is committed to giving our patients a great dental experience. Since March, only emergent cases have been allowed, but now we are beginning to open our doors to non-emergent procedures. These new technologies and changes in the office are being implemented to help keep our staff and patients from being exposed to the Coronavirus.
